You paid how much in taxes last year?

Well, your tax filing for 2006 was due yesterday. Did you get done early, or were you waiting in a midnight line at the post office? But a more important question is: how much of your income did you just lose right off the top? Most Americans pay somewhere between 20% and 40% of their entire income every single year! Money they worked hard for and will never even see. Sure, you get a refund check every year, but that's just a small fraction of what you had to pay.

But guess how much the rich paid in taxes last year?  Somewhere in the neighborhood of 5% - 9%. That's right, you pay almost half, and they only pay only single digits. How does that work? Well, there are two very distinct tax systems in this country, I call them the educated tax system and the uneducated tax system.

The uneducated tax system consists of W-2 wage earners who have a very limited knowledge of the tax code, and aren't very well optimized from a tax savings standpoint. The educated tax system is made up of wealthy insiders who know how to structure themselves in such a way as to minimize their tax liability and keep far more than the average taxpayer.

But I don't feel that saving on taxes should be limited to the rich who can afford a team of attorneys and CPAs. Everyone is eligible to take advantage of these tax saving strategies. If you'd like to learn more about lowering your tax burden, visit taxslashing.com to see how you can structure your income and put your money back in your pocket, where it belongs. Because it's not how much you make, but how much you keep that really matters.
